No two properties or clients are ever the same, and I’m lucky to be surrounded by a great group of patio contractors on my team who keep the work interesting. That means there is always plenty to write about – from new paver styles and landscaping ideas to time-tested advice from inside the industry.

One thing I almost never write (or think) about, though, is change within our own business. We essentially have the same crews meeting with homeowners and businesses every month, doing the same jobs we’ve done for decades, with very few exceptions. It occurred to me lately that Stefano’s Landscaping is probably a little bit boring that way… and that’s a fantastic thing.

For a patio contractor, no news is good news.

If you don’t understand why then let me take a moment to explain. We work in a business where peers and competitors are constantly coming and going. Small companies come in and out of the area; they can pop up in the spring and disappear by winter. Others add and lose staff as their schedules dictate. Some buy new pieces of equipment and take on different projects in the hope of growing or winning bigger jobs. Meanwhile, we just keep doing our thing.

Over time, that has given us a huge advantage in experience. That edge shows up, again and again, for ourselves and the homeowners who hire us.

Wondering what kinds of advantages I might be thinking about? Here are just a few you might consider…

We Have Seen a Bit of Everything

While no two patio renovation projects are ever the same, it’s really unlikely that your backyard design concept will be new to us. We’ve seen almost everything once or twice, and the most common challenges dozens or hundreds of times.

That experience matters when you’re trying to find solutions and get things done. The last thing you want, when your backyard is dug up, is to discover that your landscapers haven’t seen the issue you are facing before. With a team like ours you can put those fears to bed.

You Can Count on Us to Show Up

It’s unfortunate, but we hear different versions of a particular story every year. It starts with a homeowner getting a flyer or a visit from a company they’ve never heard of. They take a chance, pay a deposit, and have big dreams of what their backyard will look like when their new patio installation is completed. Halfway through the job the contractor stops showing up and isn’t available to be reached.

In most cases, the patio renovation team didn’t intend to rip anyone off. They simply lost their staff, ran out of money, or found their way into some other challenge they couldn’t get past. The business dissolves and there is no one around to finish the job or offer a refund.

Customers trust us to follow through on our plans because we’ve been in this business, and in the same area, for more than two decades. We might not be an exciting upstart, but our team will give you peace of mind.

Our Quotes are Realistic and Competitive

Often, newer patio contractors give out the lowest possible quotes because they need to secure customers as quickly as possible. To a homeowner, those rock bottom prices can seem like a great deal. It’s less of a positive when budgets have to be adjusted, timelines lengthened, and materials substituted.

With so many landscaping projects behind us, our team is able to give quotes that are both realistic and competitive. We know what a job should take, where to source the best materials, and even how to get good deals from suppliers. More importantly, we give the homeowners we work with accurate figures they can count on so we don’t have to change our estimates after we’ve broken ground.

We Attract and Retain the Best People

Many landscaping and patio renovation companies essentially function with an owner who hires seasonal workers or subcontractors as demand and their budgets allow. That means they can’t always get their preferred teams together. It also means that even the best tradesmen can go long stretches of time without finding work.

Obviously, that’s not great for the owner or the tradesman. However, the contractor might not have the resources or stability to schedule the same people on a rolling basis. Or, they may be unwilling or unable to pay experienced experts more than new hires.

Our entire company is built upon finding and keeping the very best. We’ve been in business long enough to support a team of skilled and friendly professionals, something most of our competitors can’t match.

We Can Back Up Our Contracts and Guarantees

A guarantee or service plan is only as valuable as the company backing it up. We’ve been around long enough for homeowners to know that we mean it when we say we will stand by our work. We also have long-standing relationships with vendors who give us quality products with their own warranties.

What all this means to you is that we won’t just do a great job of building out your patio today, but that you can count on us to deal with any unexpected issues tomorrow. That kind of reliability can be tough to find in our business, which is why experience and stability should win every time.

Looking for Steady and Dependable Patio Contractors?

There are many parts of life where a little bit of excitement is a great thing. But most of us just want a contractor to show up and do their job. If they can finish things on schedule and within budget that’s even better.

That’s the kind of service and attention you get from Stefano’s Landscaping. Our updates might not be thrilling, but customers have been thrilled with our work for more than 20 years. If you’re located in or around the Saugus, Massachusetts area then we would love the chance to win your business. Contact us today for a free consultation at your property.

Patio contracting is both a fun and challenging business.
